• Amber is a your basic pyrokinetic, capable of igniting any flammable materials that she can see at ranges from contact (she's holding it) to about ten feet. The fires she starts are just that, nothing magical or mystical, they obey the same laws of physics as any other fire. The intensity and temperature of her blazes are dictated strictly by the amount and type of fuel she has to work with.
• Amber is also completely immune to fire-based attacks, though she still can feel the heat and is therefore reluctant to expose herself to anything too extreme. It may hurt, but it won't injure her. It also tends to be a mite tough on her wardrobe.

Skills

• Animal Husbandry: She's herded and roped cattle, plucked chickens, ridden many a mile on horseback, sheared sheep, she knows her way around a barnyard.
• Basic Electrical: You wouldn't want Amber wiring your new home, but a recalcitrant socket or light fixture would be wise to be wary of her.
• Basic Mechanics: She'll never pit at Le Mans, but she's been able to keep that rattletrap pickup truck of hers going for over two years and many thousand miles.
• Map Reading: Finding those long stretches of highway with little to no traffic on 'em, and therefore less cops, made this mandatory.
• Passing as Older and/or Male: Amber has learned out how just a few distracting details can persuade most casual observers that she's at least two years older than she really is. Or even make them think she's a boy. Those skills have come in handy many, many times.
• Poker: No, she ain't bluffing. But she sure knows when you are.
• Slight of Hand: Where and how she picked up this particular talent, no-one seems to know, and Amber won't say. Though, a careful perusal of her wardrobe might uncover a few garments of a somewhat flashy and magician's-assistant-y nature.

Advantages

• 'Binkie': a crowbar, because 'no' means 'no'.
• 'Boo'', a bowie knife, general utility tool, also because 'no' means 'no'.
• 'Becca'', a switchblade, because when she says 'stop', it ain't a suggestion.
• 'Bertha', what's left of a 1936 Ford pickup truck. She runs, mostly.
• Grounds Keeper's Shack, basic, tiny one room apartment over the lawnmower garage. Her tubs' in the middle of the room.
• Xavier's School, position, groundskeeper, pay, not so bad, considering.

Flaws

• Collateral Damage: Amber is a pyrokinetic, and fires don't put themselves out. This can be very tough on the landscape, and sometimes, accidentally, her comrades.
• Hard Headed: When Amber sets her mind to something, mules can be more reasonable.
• Hot Temper: She's slow to anger, but when her fists start clenching, find an exit, rapidly. Try to get as many people as you can to follow you.
• Loner: Having been more or less on her own since her parents' death, Amber has become more comfortable in her own company than might be considered healthy, making forming close personal relationships very difficult for her.
• Potty Mouth: Amber doesn't swear often, but when she does, it's downright Shakespearean.
• Wanderlust: Amber rarely stays in one place longer than a month or two, after that, she's pretty much had enough and starts getting itchy to see what's further down the road.
