Background
Wilson Fisk, the product of bullying, parental alcoholism, and extreme poverty, grew up seeing violence as a solution to life's problems. At just twelve years old, he took to his father's lessons too well and beat his father to death with a hammer when attempting to protect his mother from his father's beatings. Wilson and his mother disposed of the body, and never spoke of his father's death, but both knew his Bill's end.
From there, Fisk's childhood didn't become easier, but Fisk became harder. He chose to bulk up through weight-lifting and consistent training, and to use violence to solve his problems when other solutions seemed to fail. Even from a young age, he understood power.
A Crime Boss in the Kitchen saw Wilson's potential and talents and groomed him to be one of this lieutenants, but Fisk had higher aspirations. When opportunity presented itself, he murdered the leader, and effectively took his place, bringing himself to the highest echelons of New York's criminal order.
On paper, Wilson Fisk looks like a man of meagre beginnings, having grown up in Hell's Kitchen, who went on to make build an empire all starting in the spice trade. His empire soon grew, and extended far beyond his spice dealings to include real estate, financial capital, and the tech trade. His illegal dealings, however, are far more noteworthy, including: the drug trade, the sex trade, racketeering, and money laundering.
