Creel has arrived.

Ohhhhh, the weather outside is frightful, but…the shopping counters and fudge samplers at Macy's are soooo delightful. The store is packed full of shoppers trying to finish off those Christmas lists. There is, no doubt, a healthy line to see Santa. There are coats on mannequins and wreaths on every possible surface. The store attendants are dressed impeccably, and security officers are wearing suits. The toys, oh the toys! There are circular tables stacked with a pyramid of toys, and those giant, stuffed animals that very few kids /get/, but all kids /want/, lurk at every endcap, causing a palpable sensation of 'want' in those aisles. The air is heavy with the smell of candy and perfume.

For those that are 'nice', it is a cheery and happy reminder that maybe society isn't so terrible after all. For those that are 'naughty', it is a literal buffet of unattended purses and distracted wallets.

*

Kimberly Hart, thankfully, is certainly on Saint Nick's 'Nice' list. Currently, the far-from-wealthy college freshman is shopping for a few presents to send home to her parents and seven (Yes SEVEN) siblings. Dressed in a pink sweater dress and white stockings with white boots and a light grey jacket, she is the height of teen 1963 fashion…for a girl who cannot buy designer goods! She hums along to the carols playing over the speaker as she moves along the aisles, taking it all in as she ponders what to get. One hand rests idly on the strap of her purse.

*

Lorna leaves, heading towards Macy's [M].

*

Lorna has left.

*

Vx enters ths store and almost immediatly fails to fit in to the crowd. He is dressed in a black leather coat that hangs to just above his knees along with cargo pants and combat boots. A cap is placed over his head and he keeps his face turned away from security as much as possible, luckily facial recognition is not quite up to spec just yet. While he does not fit in due to his appearance at least he fits in with his actions. Moving around and grabbing various things off the shelves before selecting a few things to buy.

*

For someone freshly broken out of prison, Creel has not been wasting much time on the important things — such as pushing into the store to escape the cold for a bit, wearing simple sweatpants and a large sweater with the hood drawn over his distinctive bald visage. He's in need of something with a lot of sugar, and pocket cash he is far from needing at the time right now. Looks like Vx isn't the only one who's trying to avoid attention, all the same, but outside his large size and menacing demeanor, he doesn't /overtly/ draw eyes to himself…

*

The woman beside Kimberly, shopping with her 5 year old, suddenly drops the package to the ground and starts walking, like in a daze, towards Womens' Clothing. Several men by VX stop mid-conversation and drift away from their spouses, also towards Womans' Clothing. At the nearby Sweets counter, Creel can see there is a dark-haired man who has suddenly stood up on the same dias as the female mannequin. He lifts his hands around her neck and takes the fur stole off her neck and puts it around his own. The nearby security just seems to be staring into space. The only person around the dark-haired fellow that doesn't appear to be staring into space is a brunette male in a tan suit who seems to be keeping an /eye/ on the dark-haired fellow.

*

The teenager blinks when the little girl drops her package, and she crouches down to pick it up. "Sweetie? You dropped this…" She trails off as she discovers the little girl seems to be in some kind of daze. Kimberly stands up and frowns slightly as she glances about to see if she can see anything else going on. After a moment Kimberly begins to trail after her, keeping a wary eye out.

*

The sudden shift to start openly looting causes Creel to blink his eyes in surprise. He doesn't particularly care, but that's rather overt. The security guard gets an eyeball; he doesn't want someone acting crazy to draw attention to him, but… "Eh?" Apparently more than a little confused, he slips his way closer to his target — the candy itself…

*

The teenager blinks when the woman drops the package and abandons the five year old. She reaches down to scoop up the package. "Miss?," she calls out in confusion. If the child looks startled or confused, Kimberly reaches down to gently take her hand to lead her after her mom. "Come on sweetie, it is okay. I've got you." Kimberly has a naturally calming and trustworthy demeanor, and she happens to be great with kids. Having seven siblings helps. She moves after the mom, her trouble-senses tingling.

*

VX may not know exactly what the hell is going on, or even have an inkling. But he knows something is just a little bit off, the ex-police officer looking around caustiously as his hand drifts down towards his waist, his thumb hooking through one of the loops on his pants. He looks around and figures he is one of the only ones unaffected by this sudden change. Perhaps a chemical then? A gas leak of some kind. He begins to move through the shops carefully, trying to assess the situation as he follows the dazed people.

*

The amount of dazed people does seem to be growing. Basically, as people become alarmed, then suddenly they are not, moving instead towards Womans' Clothing. The man with the fur stole steps down and speaks to the brunette. "I want at least 25 of them." He starts pointing at the people gathered around him, counting to see how many he has, currently.

The woman that Kim is following never answers, and her kid is obviously pretty alarmed, though not in a full panic thanks to Kimberly's assurance and calming nature.

Creel is still gonna have to PAY for the treats, because Maximus doesn't seem to have grabbed the employee behind the counter, yet.

*

It doesn't seem like Creel is super aware of such things, since once he sees chaos going down, he joins in. A package of expensive chocolates is hefted up and torn open, lid flicked off to the ground before he shoves a mouthful in with a rather messy noise. …The employee is probably going to not appreciate this.

*

Kimberly keeps gently leading the little girl along behind her supposed mother. She takes in everything around her as she does so. She may look like some simple teen girl, but by this point in her life she is already quite practiced with danger. She gauges threats as she moves, and tries to get a good look at what exactly is happening in Women's Clothing!

*

It isn't hard to find out just who the hell is causing this once VX gets his eyes on the man. It is no gas leak, he is doing something. Pheromones, mind control. Something is affecting these people and causing them to act like that. He moves closer and closer through the crowd before he stops close to the man, close enough that he won't miss. Not him Ex-police special operations. His hand ducks under his jacket for a moment and comes out with a m1911, levelled almost instantly at the man. "Let them go. Now."

*

When presented with danger, all hell suddenly breaks loose. Maximus the Magnificent makes sudden eye-contact with VX. He lifts his hand and gestures downward with one, arrogant finger. Meanwhile, several of the innocent shoppers stand in front of his body.

The brunette man behind him makes a motion and a weird, giant, egglike orb appears beside him. It pops and out comes 10 vaguely human looking creatures. They do have clothes, and faces, but nothing about them seems correct. These are the Alpha Primatives…subhumans.

And of course, at this, people who are not affected by the mind contol start screaming and trying to run away. The man behind the sweets counter yells at Creel, "HEY! What gives?! You're going to have to pay for that!"

*

People are screaming and running around, and Creel's just got lips smeared in chocolate. But someone seems aware enough to point out his petty crime, and his reaction is to look around in mild surprise. "That guy's got a gun!!" he tells the employee, pointing towards VX. Before making to grab an armful of other random chocolates thereafter. If there's one thing he knows, it's how to take advantage of a bad situation. Opportunist!

*

Oh. Wow. Well then. Kimberly acts fast. She scoops up the little girl and turns, shouldering through a door into the changing room, since this is Women's Clothing. She sets the little girl down in one of the changing stalls and quietly says. "Okay. I need you to stay here. Either myself or your mommy will come and get you. Stay. Here." She talks in a calming tone, and makes sure the kid understands before she reaches into her purse and pulls out a compact. She twists the compact, and her pink Power Coin falls into her hand.

"It's Morphin time," she whispers under her breath. "Pterodactyl." With a flash of energy, Kimberly Hart's pink sweater dress, leggings and boots is replaced with her sleek pink and white armor and helmet. Her blaster blade is holstered at her side, and her power bow is across her back. She gives the little girl a 'ssshhh' gesture and turns, leaping back out into the main area.

"Hey, creepos!" She falls into a martial arts pose and then leaps a good fifteen feet, attempting to slam down into one of the Alpha Primitives with a boot to the face!

*

VX does his best to resist the mind control, but there is only so much he can take. He is strong willed certainly, but he is not some kind of telepath with near endless reolve. His gun slowly begins to lower as he feels the pressure of someone taking control of him forcibly. His spare hand moves to his head and he lets out a low grunt. Finally he does the only thing he can still do, something that the mind control has not yet ordered him not to do. A cloud of white gas billows out from his body, enveloping anyone within fifteen metres of himself as he desperatly tries to defend himself. Coughing, spluttering and loud cursing echoe in the shopping centre as people are enveloped in tear gas.

*

SO ANNOYING!! Some ex-cop-hero just starts…spouting horrible gas! Maximus is horrified! The guy is so /attractive/ and he smells /so baaaad/. What a tragedy! Wrinkling his face over-much, a distorted and snarly look, Maximus takes a retreat to try to get out of the cloud before his mascara runs. The Alpha Primitives are bothered by the gas, though they are being controlled, so, hack-coughing their way through their orders is simply what happens. 3 of the humans being mind controlled /attack/ VX, their eyes watering. One vomits on him during the attack. 4 Alpha Primitives attack Kimberly, its wild, like gorillas attacking, no form, no style. Other mind-controlled humans are being escorted away with Maximus, by the remaining Alpha Primitives.

*

Meanwhile, Creel and his chocolate binge…its delicious. Its sweet-sweet chaos, and rampant delight. Visions of sugarplums dance through his head, and it is a magnificent, glorious, Christmas Wish granted. The guy behind the counter ducks at the word gun, and there are bigger problems than a huge dude eating all their snacks.

*

Things are going from bad to worse. Creel shifts to stuff the chocolates into as many pockets as he can, but he's chosen the larger boxes in his greed. A few are mashed up into unappealing lumps, some spill to the ground, and then there's an eruption of gas everywhere. The sound of coughing innocents makes him pause a moment, sneering out of habit as opposed to care. "Jeez… this city really IS going to hell. Hahah…" A watch is snatched from a nearby rack and taken out of the package as he continues marching along, although his attention is drawn towards Kimberly. "Hey." he calls out towards her. Mr. Choco-face the improv thief. "…you some kinda hero?"

*

The Alpha Primitive that Kimberly decided to ninja-kickk in the face, gets ninja-kicked in the face! He rocks backwards, and falls over, making creepy grunting sounds as he tries to re-orinet himself.

*

It's just like fighting Putties! Kimberly has been stumbling trying to find her place here in New York, and she feels like she is practically in a different world. But this? She's got this.

The gas seems to have no effect on her, thanks to the suit keeping stuff like that out. She notes the poor people being hurt, of course, but has her hands full! She backflips over one of them before dropping down to sweep legs. She moves with incredible speed and strikes with superhuman strength. Tripping one (Hopefully), she reaches out and picks up a customer service desk as if it weighed nothing, and slams it down on another. "Shows over, weirdos! Get some Christmas spirit!" She moves from one of the attacking Alpha Primitives to the other with insane skill and power, without even drawing a weapon.
"Darn right!," she calls out to Creed as she delivers a high king beneath a Primitive chin.

*

VX is not too bothered with bodily fluids, he has seen some rather terrible things since he has discovered his powers. However he is still just a mutant, a mutant with no great strength or inhuman durability. What he does have is immunity to his own powers and the discipline to stay calm under fire. Three humans come at him, obviously feeling the debilitating effects of his CS gas. Their eyes watering so heavily and their lungs filled with gas they are not exactly the best combatants in the world. VX defends himself as best he can without putting them down for good. He moves through the vomit his hand blocking the first blow with his forearm before he catches the first attacker with a brutal right cross. He sways to the side as the next attempts to grab him, his foot lashing out deliveing a bruising roundhouse kick. And then he is hit square in the head by the last combatant coming at him and his vision swims for a moment.

*

"Huh. Alright." Creel murmurs to himself, slapping the watch on and then crouching down. His hands slap upon the ceramic tile of the floor, as the gas begins to billow at his knees. Suddenly his forearms ripple with the same off-white color of the floor, covered in a crosshatch of indentations the same as the design. In a few seconds, he's abruptly a lumbering six and a half foot tall golem of crappy Macy's decorum. "Okay, Pinkie. I'll need you to do me a favor. You tell the world it was Absorbing Man who gave you a world of pain…!!"

*

Is that…an armored hero? Maximus squints through the haze of gas and lets out a snort, covering his mouth a moment later. "I want what we have, now!" Maximus yells to the brunette in the tan suit. That brunette looks slightly annoyed. "The primatives." He reminds. "UHHHH…fine…" And those primatives, all beat up, kinda drag-limp themselves along in retreat while Max waits at a distance with about 10 humans, and 6 Alpha Primatives. The humans that VX is faced with are normal people as well, so, for instance, one of them is hitting him with her purse. Brutally. But, she's still clearly just a human lady with a purse full of crap.

*

"Seriously? Right now? Pied Piper over there is kidnapping people! I don't have time for Tile Man!"

The Pink Ranger whirls about to face the approaching Creel, and she reaches back to draw her Power Bow from her back. She draws an arrow back and fires it off at him with skill as she leaps back through the air, towards Maximus and his fleeing hostages. The arrow hits whatever it hits with explosive force, and she fires off two more at the man while backing up, closing the distance between herself and Maximus.

She turns, hoping the explosions have slowed Creel, and fires an arrow off at Maximus as well, hoping that a hit will distract him enough to free some of the hostages.

*

"That ain't my problem, girl. I'm not interested in hurting them… but I AM interested in hurting—" Whoa, she seems to have a bow. Creel throws up his arms, and the first hit cracks the tile on both arms, sending him skidding backwards as clothing racks are sent flying. The second blows off a large portion of his hip, and the third causes his right arm to… fall off, thumping on the ground. "…!!" He's reeling, obviously surprised at the firepower that Kimberly has. Good thing she didn't keep it up. "You… little…!" Suddenly the tile begins… vanishing. Along with his dropped arm. They are drawn inwards, incorporated back into Creel as he quickly regenerates the damage with a look of wary annoyance.

*

A few people are going to be sore come christmas. But he is doing everything he can to help them escape their mind control at least. He recovers from the hit, his hand catching the purse thumping against him. He pulls the woman holding it foward and delivers a cruel headbut before he lets her drop to the ground. Another comes at him from behind and sweeps out his legs, VX twists as he hits the ground and brings his attacket down with his own legs before landing a solid boot heel to the face. Finally he emerges from his own cloud of gas running towards Maximus. However with his gun gone he lacks any precision weapons to take him down and he doesn't seem willing to kill innocents to do the job.

*

There comes a moment in every hero's life when they are faced with the cruel consequences of their actions. In this case, its a store clerk, who steps in front of Maximus and takes that arrow instead of the Mad King. The clerk drops like a lead weight to the floor in a crumple. As heroes come barrelling down at him, he is forced to leave the 4 Alpha Primitives behind, because his own security guard activates some sort of giant egg, which surrounds the people nearby and then pops out of existance a moment later. The very moment Maximus is gone, all humans remaining regain themselves. Some are going to be so confused as to why they are sore in the face! The only name they heard was Absorbing Man, so he's quite likely to get the bulk of the credit for the chaos.

*

VX is runnign. He is nearly at the people surrounding Maximus, tendrils of gas come off him as he prepares to use his power again a battlecry beginning to tear itself from his lips. And then he is gone. Vanished along with Maximus, no sign of the chemical weapon mutant except for the coughing and spluterring civilians.

*

When that civilian drops she goes still for a moment. Did that really just happen? She lowers her bow, and while it cannot be seen thanks to the helmet, she is gaping. At least the arrows don't leave physical remains, so no proof she shot the man will exist. She doesn't even have a chance to consider what just happened before Maximus and the other vanish, though. Instead she turns towards Creel.

"Ugh. I don't have time for this!" She fires another arrow off at his feet, and then another off at the ceiling above him, hoping to cause a little bit of a collapse to hopefully pin the Ceramic Man.

*

Suddenly everyone's gone, and Creel looks over at the smoking crater that used to have a person. "…tough break there, bucko." He doesn't sound very approving at all. But then the arrows shoot off once more, and the ground beneath him grows unstable. But a moment after the ceiling collapses atop him, he simply absorbs the mass, growing slightly larger. Now it looks to be just him and the Pink Ranger, although amidst the chaotic environment he certainly seems less gung-ho. "Heh. You ever see someone die before…? Ain't pretty, is it?"

*

Now that security isn't mind-controlled to be ignoring this, they aren't. Someone's on the phone, calling for the police. Civilians are being evacuated from all the floors, moving out and away from the scene that still has two major players in it…Creel…versus Pink Ranger.

*

The Pink Ranger sighs as Creel grows a bit larger and starts towards her. She holsters her bow on her back and draws the dagger from her hip. With a small twist it transforms into a blaster pistol. She doesn't respond to his quip about seeing people die, though she does flip sideways through the air and land on top of a table, dropping to a crouch. While flipping through the air she fires off several blasts of pink energy, the weapon cranked to extremely high stun levels. It won't blow chunks off of him, but it will act like a superhumanely strong taser.

"Nap time, Plaster Man!"

*

Creel begins to lumber forward, sweeping out his hands to absorb whatever incidental items are within arm's reach. Metal twists and embeds within, clothing swirls along his form, chunks of the floor ripped up and congealing within him. He's nearly nine feet tall now, and lumberously heavy, ground thumping beneath. People are already alerting the emergency services of course, with the gas and explosions, but he isn't concerned with the MUNDANE authorities. The intense stuns slam into him, but simply paff with bright energy, barely staggering him. Doesn't seem like he's made of flesh at the moment; it's the same as if she just shot a big lump of amalgamated material. "You wanna run? I won't chase you…!!" Hahahaha!!

*

She frowns inside of her helmet when the blasts have no effect. She drops back off of the table, putting it between them as she watches him grow larger. "I've dealt with bigger guys then you without breaking a sweat." She holsters her blaster and twirls, back-kicking the table. It sails through the air with incredible force and speed, showing her superhuman ability…flying right at the big man.

The flying table, however, is just a distraction. He didn't seem to be seriously hurt when he lost a limb before, so she banks on that fact. While the table is sailing towards him she rolls to the side, using it as both cover and a distraction. The Pink Ranger comes up in a crouch with her bow aimed low, and fires off four energy arrows…two at each ankle. Or whatever might equal an ankle on him.

*

The table catches Creel's attention, and he sweeps out to backhand it. The fragments fly in all directions, but as intended he's left rather flat-footed… for the duration he has them. The multiple shots slam home, shattering his reinforced ankles and causing him to collapse forward with a sound of annoyance, hitting the ground hard enough to cause it to rumble and kick up dust, glass shattering from a nearby jewelry stand. "And I am ABSORBING MAN!!" he shouts out in annoyance!

*

"Didn't you go to school, Plaster Person? You should never start a sentence with a conjunction!" As he sprawls forward she leaps up from her crouch, sprinting forward in an attempt to deliver a kick to his face, before using the force of it to vault her way backwards through the air in a high arc. If she lands that kick, it is with extreme force. Not enough to kick his head off or anything…but enough that he CERTAINLY feels it.

Flying backwards she fires off another arrow at the middle of his back.

*

"What the hell's a conjunction?!" Absorbing Man retorts, beginning to absorb the floor once more and regain his feet yet again. Then she's suddenly shooting forward, a few tons of force slamming into his primarily ceramic face. His jaw shatters, quite literally, knocking him upright. He's not exactly stunned, you'd need a brain for that, but disoriented enough that the blow to his back causes another shrapnel explosion that risks the cohesion of his entire body. But there's only one thing that Kimberly might not have counted on… the fact he feels no pain, has no nervous system, and is MAD. While she's still mid-air he lunges forward through the cloud of debris, large arm thrusting out with speed that belies his lumbering form in an attempt to grasp her, as his cracks begin to re-seal once more. "IT'S USELESS!!" he bellows, once his face is a bit more in order!

*

She is grabbed out of the air, as she is caught off-guard, and his hand wraps about her like King King and…whatever the name of the woman in King Kong is! She tosses her bow aside, letting it clatter to the ground below. When she Morphs down it will vanish anyways. She reaches down and grabs a finger and his thumb, grunting as she tries to pry his hand open to free herself. They are both incredibly strong, but he is also NOT made of flesh.

"Hey, hands off, creep!" She can't reach her blaster on her hip due to the way she is grabbed, so she pulls a hand back and concentrates, before delivering several solid, inhumanely strong strikes to his thumb…ala a martial artist breaking through bricks.

*

Creel sweeps his other arm around, and although his thumb shatters and his grip begins to fail, it's likely that one of Kimberly's legs is going to get snatched before she can fully escape. He's continuing to slowly balloon, reformed face managing a rictus grin. "What's my name!" he asks, although managing to keep her in his proverbial mittens is a more difficult task than he had expected…

*

She drops a few feet to freedom before her leg is caught and she spins about to hang upside down. She holds her hand out and her blaster falls right into her hand. She flicks it from Stun to Kaboom and takes aim at his arm above her.

"Barney Rubble." Hey, that show came out three years ago now! She fires off a series of shots at his arm above her, hoping to blow his arm to pieces. Once that, hopefully, happens she sails towards the floor, squeezing off shots at his legs as she does so. Once she hits the ground she is immediatly on the move. She leaps backwards, firing off shot after shot as she does so.

*

Creel is quite a bit larger now than when he started; almost twelve feet. Her pistol's certainly got quite a lot of power to it, but with both limbs in the mix, it's not the immediate destruction she likely hoped for. Realizing the annoyance, he tries to assist Kimberly' escape — by thrusting down with a roar, easily twelve tons of force leveraged to try to hurl her towards the ground before she fully gets away!!

*

She is slammed down into the ground, taking all of that force. A small crater is created, sending up rubble and tile in all directions. When the dust clears she is climbing slowly back to her feet with a grunt. A human would have been killed by that, and while she will certainly feel that in the morning, she is far from that. For a 5'5" girl in pink she is a bit of a beast.

She hears the sirens coming and sighs, leaping out of the little crater and away from the enormous man. "You're lucky I can't ride my Zord on Earth." Whatever the heck THAT means. "That guy just kidnapped a whole bunch of people so I REALLY don't have time for you or your ego." She takes a few steps back, winching beneath her helmet. She absolutely has bruised ribs and possibly a pulled muscle in her leg from that slam into the ground. She taps her belt buckle, and she begins to shimmer into pink energy as she moves to flee, teleporting off into space.

"See you next time, Tiled Terror." Unless he manages to close all that distance in a blur, she likely escapes."

*

There's a look of surprise when the Pink Ranger remains in the fight. He judged how hard he had to throw her based on her kicks… that's what he gets for being a big softie. "HNNGH!!" He throws a punch while she's disoriented, slamming into the ground and causing more debris to fly, but she slithers away… and hands snap shut on air as she teleports. "IT'S ABSORBING MAAAAAN!" he shouts to the heavens, thrusting his fists up. Right into the ceiling, which partially collapses on him. But as the police pour in, he reaches up into the new hole, hauling himself onto the roof. Running to the edge, he leaps off, landing hard in an adjacent alley… before in an eruption, his shell of excess material falls away, leaving the clothed Crusher Creel once more. "I'll get you for this…" he growls, pulling out one of his thefted chocolates as his hood goes up and he vanishes into the gawking crowd…!

Kimberly has left.

Creel has left.
