Kara doesn't take too long. The truth is, after the hot dog cart and everything else, she's going to need an actual bath or shower before she really feels clean. But a quick wash of her hands in the bathroom at the park is enough to get her to where she can focus on other things. Like unexpected possible Kryptonians.

She takes to the sky with Lara, rising up to an altitude that keeps them out of the way of planes, out of general sight, and with wide-open access to sunlight. Once they're there, she crosses her arms over her chest. "I thought I was the last," she says simply.

"Well… Kal-El's existance is proof enough that is not true, Kara", Lara says, matter-of-factly. She took the time to actually fly down into the Central Park's lake, to get at least most of the dirt off herself and out of her hair, before coming up into the sky… so she's still dripping wet, mostly, and her dark hair's laying down her back.

Kara tilts her head, eyes narrowing defensively at the mention of her cousin. She was trying to protect him, in case this other girl wasn't on the up and up. "That's…not really an answer. And I get the feeling that you know what I meant. Who are you? Where are you from?"

"My given name is Lara", is the woman's reply. "I'm of Earth, actually, although I am of the house of El. I'm from a different time… perhaps a different reality. I was thrown back into my past by an explosion when my allies and I were fighting to prevent the destruction of many different Earths by a device capable of doing such. I was going up to try to get one of my friends out as the machine was near destruction when it … exploded. I was caught in the blast and… here I am", she explains, lifting both hands in a sort of shrugging gesture. "Simply put… you couldn't have known about me until you met me. I find your reaction quite understandable."

Kara considers that for a long moment, gauging whether or not she believes it, before she lets out a slow breath. "Well. That's…odd, but given my situation, I don't think I have much room to judge on the odd front. I'm sure my story sounds at least as strange to other people when I explain it. But what-" She frowns, unable to frame a proper question. "I'm sorry, I don't know what to say."

"Believe me… I've spent a lot of time thinking on what to say ever since I arrived in this Earth… and realized Kal-El was here, as well", Lara says in reply. "… and I would ask you to understand, also, that there will be questions I cannot and will not answer, for fear of temporal repercussions", she adds, inviting the asking of questions.

"That…makes sense. I guess. I mean, there's a question of if anything you did could change a fixed timeline, or if the information just creates a divergent timeline, which is another matter entirely…" Kara cuts herself off from the meandering thoughts, scrubbing a hand over her face for a moment. "Sorry, that's moot. I just…Aside from Kal-El, I never expected to run into another person who understood anything about us. I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet."

"You will feel about it as you feel about it", Lara says, as if it's just that simple. "How you feel about it isn't someting I, or anyone else, can or should dictate to you. As for changes to this timeline… this is why there are questions I feel I must not answer, even if asked. You seem to understand what I mean, perhaps better than I do. You always were the scientific genius in the family."

"You know me. Knew me. Will know who I will be, or might be, or might have been in the place where you came from," Kara says, rubbing a hand at her brow. "Time travel is an ugly thing to figure out. Probably best to avoid that. But…I'd like to know more of something. Maybe we could meet another time?"

"Yes, of course", Lara says. "If you have somewhere you need to go, please feel free to do so. I'll soak in the sunlight a bit, then return to my quarters at the Asgardian Embassy, where Prince Thor has honored me by offering his hospitality until I can somehow manage a place of my own", she adds, gesturing in the general direction of the place she's named.

Kara nods, a surprised flicker of understanding crossing her features. "That…explains a thing or two," she says with a small smile. "I'll meet you there. Once I've thought this through. And…thank you, for helping with that."

Lara nods her head once, smiling in return. "Fare thee well, cousin. I look forward to speaking with you again, soon."
