Its hard to keep a Maximus down, and…despite Kaleb's pretty obvious interest in the woman known as Lorna, he still comes a-knocking. Everyone can use a friend that appreciates good, fine, fashion. He is dressed as a man today, so he seems generally less confusing, a dark green suit with black shoes and his hair slicked back like a gangster. "Kaaaaaleb…" he calls, sing-song, at the door.
*
Kaleb came and answered the door. It'd been a few days since someone tried to burn down Mutant Town. Kaleb, as per usual, was in silver-grey and dressed well though he was sporting a black eye courtesy of concussive force to the bridge of his nose. He opened the door and was immediately conflicted. Maximus was inconsistent by nature and that made him both very interesting and very dangerous. There was also a part of Kaleb that was just envious as shit and in complete awe when all four of Max's wheels were on the ground and he was just 'on'. As such Kaleb weirdly had no heart to be cruel to Maximus, and had that part of him that wanted things to sort. So he opened the door and greeted Maximus, "I see you got out of Mutant Town…good." He was worried. He did try to go back. He doesn't know why he did to warn he and Morbius, but he had.

Maximus is blissfully unaware of Kaleb's inner conflict, regarding him. He is like a strange stalker that just…doesn't get it, if there's hesitation to being his friend. "Yessss, of course. And you as well, fleeing with your precious girlfriend. Tell me again why she doesn't /fly/ everywhere?" He grins crookedly and just…walks on in! Temporarily, of course, he wants to drag Kaleb OUT. "I thought we could go shopping. You have an /eye/…that appreciates finer things. I saw a man walking by earlier that had a suit I liked, but he wasn't my size." He grins overbroadly, the corners of his lips wrinkling up his face. "And I want a fur coat. A white one. So that when I am in the snow, its also camoflage."
*
Kaleb looked at the hallway and considered the last time Max came over and Lorna almost left him homeless from panic. His eyes shift back to Maximus and said "You'd wear a used suit?" His expression wrinkled a bit like Max were a tragic figure falling from grace. NO! He could not see art ruined like this. He wlked over and fetched his sunglasses from his room that looked painfully organized and structured with his small draft table taking the pinnacle spot over any other furniture that he had. His priorities were very odd. one of his drawings from the temple they journied to was framed and on his wall though. Over the tempted flesh of a voluptous woman and the cash Max offered? That's what Kaleb sold his soul to Max for. Returning he sighed pocketing his keys, "My friend I'm afraid I cannot let you do this. Come. I'm short a suit now."
*
Maximus lids his eyes and heads back out the door. "I did not view it as a used suit. I viewed it as something I wanted that someone else had, that I wanted…immediately." He flicks a grin at Kaleb. "Have you ever bought someone's car while they were in it? You should try it…" Maximus may not be the best role model for the future leader of mutants. But, he does have style.
*
Kaleb blinked to Maximus and said "Of course not. I have a driver. I don't do my own manual labour." He looked, bless him and his perfect and flawless sense of entitlement, confused by this. "I have absolutely made people give me the things I want though. I mean if it meant more to them they they wouldn't let that happen I suppose. Still though a suit is sacred, and generally most of mine are made unless I really really really-" He stopped in the hall looking to Maximus, "I'm sorry that man was too short. I think I see your point here."
*
Maximus makes a casual gesture. "I don't know how to drive. I just…take peoples' drivers and everything. But, it matters not, right now. The point is that we are going shopping…just us. No interruptions. I feel like I keep getting /interrupted/." Because its so fun to interrupt his monologues, probably! "Lets use your driver." He smiles.
*
Kaleb called Mr. Banks. It was his father's driver to a very, very nice car. The Millers could hang with the Waynes and the Worthingtons easy it seemed. He looked to Maximus and asked curiously, "You ever miss the things you gave up to get where you're at?" It wasn't accusation so much as a question of council. Okay to be fair Max interested him. He was so dynamically odd and different that one couldn't help but challenge their perceptions of perceived society. With a pause he offered admitting, "Hey, I am… glad you're okay. Your shoes make it?" Heeled or no he respected a difficulty of wardrobe.
*
The odd ex-king tilts his head as he looks at Kaleb with his own curiosity…for the 'mean man' who somehow managed to not be totally mean, against his nature. "My shoes made it, yes. And…" he frowns some. "I have not given things up to get where I am at right now. I have had them taken away. So yes, I miss them desperately. I was a king, you know. For what its worth, the last time I was in Attilan," here he starts to grin, maniacly, "I stole the crown. I have it in my apartment. Idiots." He chuckles. "They probably know I have it, but what are they going to do? There isn't a king currently and a royal has every right to keep it in custody." Still, its obvious from his expression that he was being a little shit about it. "Why? Are you going to give up the life of a leader? Don't tell me…over that girl." Now she doesn't even have a name.
*
Kaleb listened. When the car pulled up he spoke with the driver what he needed to know and kept the privacy window up. He waited for the help to get the door because that is what they live for and who was he to take that from them? He sat and crossed ankle over knee considering the story and the question. "Well, you said yourself a crown doesn't a king make. There are men that talk and men that do. If its yours you should keep it in your apartment. They want to change the guard they should get their own symbols I suppose. I'm with you on that one." He paused looking out the window and looked back to Maximus with a dead expression, "Who said I have given anything up?"
*
"You sounded like you were asking a philisophical question…because of some action you were going to take. I suddenly…" Here Maximus pauses to slide into the back and settle himself with his legs spread wide, like a manspreading. "Maybe you will have to, to win over the special humans, if you wish to become their leader. Sometimes, people have an issue with rich people. As if it is your /choice/ that you were born to richness." Max drums his fingers against the arm rest.
*
Kaleb cracked a faint grin and said, "Hell, Highness, they don't have to like me. I'm not asking anyone to kneel. I'm asking my people to stand. They don't have to like me for that. But I think if anyone in this world gets 'I want lesser people to stop hunting 'my' people… I dunno. I'd say you have an acute grip on this. And you should know I respect this. But I promise you I have no intent to give up anything that important to the likes of spontaneity." His head tilted and he just observed Max switching tracks entirely. The words were tentive and very curious, but they had a respect of frank directness and he cared to leave that there. "Why did you look me up at home?"
*
Maximus swallows and continues looking out the tinted window. "I was disappointed the last time I came to your place. I wanted to talk to you, to spend time with you, getting to know you better, and instead the whole thing was ruined by constant guests and the dramatics." He rolls his eyes to look over at Kaleb. "You live with a good amount of people. I miss…that. A whole palace full of people, only alone if I wanted to be. I wanted you to help me, to possibly heal me, with your power. That was all. Unless you mean today, then, today…I want a suit."
*
Echo Proxy listened and still kept that conversation very, very private as good sonics do. "Things got… emotional. And yeah." His jaw tightened with a side nod of his head, "When things are good it's pretty good. It's still weird to me. And today I want a sit too. That were-bitch ruined mine with those goddamned exploding rats. Still though 'heal' is a new one for me. I've made organs and small rodents explode. I don't think I've ever been accused of being a healer."
*
"If you recall, I was harmed by Sonic powers. In my mind. So I am told. I have my moments. I thought if sound could do the damage, perhaps the right sorts of sounds could undo it, and I would…/stabilize/. But, its possible its beyond you. I just have not met another sonic that I could trust. My brother is far too powerful to do something subtle, like you do." Maximus explains and draws in a deep breath, "Why do you live with the others?"
*
Kaleb thought over for a while. It was 50/50 wether Maximus was lucid and completely honest, or jsut knew how to tell him the things that would bite him like an earworm. In the end the result was the same and the young heir of an empire of a different sort nodded quietly. "I…appreciate that, your trust means a lot. Thank you. It's hard when people decide you for you." He considered teh question and laughed with a wry grin, "I live withthe others because I don't fuckin g trust my family. My twin brother I do though. Vic and Jay don't make me who I'm not. Rather I think they help me get better at who I am. It's…very curious as I more often than not hate the company of other people. I think finding more people like me has changed the environmental conditions of that equation for me. Also Vic cooks." And Kaleb doesn't DO manual labour.
*
"Ahhh, yes…the cooking. Yes, that's handy. Sure. So you live with Jay as well. Not just Vic? That winged fellow…I can never tell if he's gay or not. Do you have any idea?" He forms an amused face. "Tell me about your twin brother. Does he have the same power as you? How much you can learn…about your kind from the two of you."
*
The way Maximus phrases things, there is an eloquent cadence to it, like a seduction of personality. Its either charming, or repulsive. The latter to most people, apparently.
*
Kaleb fell somewhere in the middle. He really really really wanted to continue just not liking people, and maybe it wa sjust that cadence and the nuissance that kept the sonic compelled to a point of staying under his own will to answer these questions. "Yes Jay's my roommate, and no he's never given any indication as such." He didn't belittle the question as offensive. For a man that was exceptionally particular that seemed to be a non-issue area, heavily likely him safeguarding his brother in that aspect. "Kellan and I are twins up to the point of having an altered gene but they are altered in different directions. His directed internal and mine more external. He's telepathic but I got voice of command. Sometimes I really wish I could do both. I guess it's best that I don't." He chuckled and said "Fenucci Bros. we are here." As they pulled close to the spot where one goes to get a suit with a statement.
*
"Kellan. I see. Its good that you have a bond with your brother that is amiable. You protect each other." Maximus waits for the door to be opened before he steps on out of it. "I would like to meet him sometime. Is /he/ single?" He arches a brow.
*
Echo Proxy chuckled and said , "He is gay, and presently he is not single.ch as we share a brain at times he insists on wearing jeans. but he's happy. There are worse things." He winked to Maximus finding all of this teribly amusing. "I'll introduce you though. And… I think I'd like to se about what we can do to help you with your…project." Though the valet came about and opened the door. A look was given to Maximus, "Really you were thinking green?" He was still on the suit and he bit his lip, "Look I know this is personal but I need to know…" He worked up the will to ask at risk of being disappointed, "Pinstripes or no withthe green?"
