maximus triton gorgon medusa chloe

Maximus lifts his chin and sets his lips firmly, having been rejected as a rescuer. "So…you are both /content/ to simply let things play out as they will, while they hold my brother…and Nexus?" He totally phrases it just like that, all full of guilt-trippin' goodness!

*

Maximus tends to know full well that his guilt tripping has never worked on Gorgon as much as he'd like, but Gorgon just rolls his eyes at him. "given that it was their choice, I'm not happy with it, and I'd be more than happy to deal with it aggressively if both members of the now trapped members of our society didn't want a peaceful solution." he crosses his arms a little. "I despise it."

*

Triton held out his hand still waiting for the eggs. Triton was a hard fish to bait. Always has been. He knew Max would try to goad him, there's be more preamble, and then they'd have a real discussion of some nature and the fish, being no fun, waited it out patiently and let Max be Max. "Oh they are coming home. Nexus has a plan. It's teh only, only, reason I advocated to let him stay." Triton…was up to something.

*

Maximus approached Triton and did hand him over the eggs. If there's something suspicious going on with Triton, he falls for it, and gets close enough. "For once…Gorgon and I are in agreement, wholeheartedly." The former King exhales. "I want to help. But, with no other way, I shall simply keep..home…safe

*

At least Gorgon and Maximus -finally- for the first time…literally ever. -the- first time, they agree on something and after a brief moment of somewhat surprise, Gorgon nods. "Good. you're good with the people Maximus." is all he offers on that, though he looks to Triton. "Exactly."

*

Chloe remains a quiet presence at Triton's side. She's said what she's had to say and strongly implied what she has to strongly imply; she'll defend the royal blood with all her murder-princess skill, she's mad herself available to Gorgon (not for that), and her opinion is known: make this nonsense stop by any means necessary. So she stands at attention like a good royal gardener.

*

Triton leans over to take the eggs from Max and kept his voice very quiet, "Nexus is making certain we get all our things back or they won't get all of theirs back." in short: Nexus had control of the Kree ship. This was a plus. he turned and handed one of the eggs to Chloe and one to Gorgon. "Max, what do we know about the person that tried to kill you?" He looked up to Gorgon and back to max.

*

Maximus considers that question for a moment and then nods once. "Still to be seen. But, rest assured, I do not deserve it. I am not certain if its from our own people's fear….or an external source masquerading as such. On the surface, it would seem to be our own." Which he doesn't seem to like saying.

*

Gorgon seems to smile a little at Triton at his softspoken words, and then his eyes shift to Chloe, giving her a nod of approval, even though she said nothing, and then he looks back to Maximus. "We may not like it, but such are things we should consider." he sighs, crossing his arms. "We'll find out."

*

Chloe takes the offered egg. "Propaganda can make normal people do and say things they'd never otherwise consider," she says. She nods to Gorgon's words and echoes, "We'll find out." Then, to Triton, "What will you require of me while we're unable to return to Attilan?"

*

Triton added to Chloe's summary, "Or do and say what they should not. Maximus, a strike at any one of us is a strike on all of us and snubs the laws that keeps our city bound in peace." It wasn't peaceful but let us not mince words. it was orderly. It was close. It was meant to be reassuring as right now they would need all of them. He turned to Chloe and muffled a laugh inside the mask shaking his head, "You know, Chloe, I don't have an answer. Might need you to navigate teh city. You can can go discretely where we cannot. We need to find someplace to stay as we cannot take our new 'friends' home."

*

Maximus grins faintly. "YOu know…there is this man? I know exactly where you can stay. Just tell him that Max sent you there…as a favor. Let me give you the address, Chloe." Since she'll be doing the scouting and so on, looking normal and all. Then, he TOTALLY gives her Lamont's address.

*

Gorgon knows that grin….oh boy, what's he planning. He doesnt comment on it though…you never know! He looks to Triton with a proud nod. "He's completely right." there were really no moments where Triton and Gorgon didn't agree on an important issue. they tended to think alike. He looks then to Chloe "You'd be our best shot at that, since Maximus will be in the city.

*

*"

*

Chloe takes this all so seriously, dutiful as she takes the address and pockets it. "Thank you, Prince Maximus," she says. To Triton, she says, "I won't disappoint you. I'll have lodgings for us within a couple days, tops." She nods then to Gorgon, and she can't help but glance at his hooves. She really is the one most likely to blend in. There probably won't be any stabbing sprees. Probably. "I'll get the job done, Captain," she says.

*

Triton shook his head. Okay the fish had a fondness for the woman and who could really at all blame him that. She was a high quality tool of destruction and serenity. "Just be careful as you ever are. The humans seem to be…mostly fine, but we bring something strange to them and they may see this as you attacking them. Just…You know how to do what you need to do." Splitting the party was never a good idea but lo it was being done. "Max your resource is reliable enough hen?"

*

Maximus is at home in his fancy smancy apartment, and since many people do know where he lives, its not impossible for Medusa to track him down, and he flat-out told Chloe and Triton, so that's easy enough. Corvus also knows where it is. The elevator opens right up into the main room, though there's a passcode someone had to punch in to do it. BING! The main room has the kitchen to the left and a large living room to the right. There's every indication that Maximus is working on something large, as pieces of machinery are in here, though they are not functional or connected to anything yet.

*

Medusa used to believe that if there was one thing she knew how to handle, it was the Brothers Boltagon. Of course, Medusa used to believe a lot of things. She's dressed in Terran couture, her hair is fierce, and she's accompanied by fellow Inhumans, there's something both careful and tense about her as she stands in front of Maximus' door. She looks askance at Triton and then nods a little. "I'm ready." she says, sounding calmer than she feels.

*

Triton looked to Medusa and said calmly, "You always are, Medusa. It will be fine." It wasn't a trust that everything was fine, but an assurance that he'd level teh playing field if he needed to to keep peace in the family. Unlike his sibling it was not solely from a place of efficiency but because he wanted it to work out which was always something for the soldier and optimist in him to collide at times. It made sense, but the subtle affectation was the fish was happy to make many consessions with Chloe into their personal business. His appreciation was spartan, but very present. He announced them. "Maximus. I brought Medusa and Chloe." He held the elevator grate open into the square room of the larger square that was the top floor of the apartment building.

*

Chloe usually dresses for New York out of habit, not fine couture, but… cute. No one would suspect the young woman in a yellow mini-dress of being Stabitha Christie. She keeps the knives in her purse. "I haven't been able to get in touch with this 'Lamont Cranston' yet, but I will try again. In the middle of the night if I must to make sure he's home when I come." She bows her head to Medusa and Maximus both. Never let it be said she lacks respect for the royal family.

*

"In the middle of the night is preferred, even." Maximus comes around the corner, wearing a black, mandarin collared suit. He does look at Chloe and Triton, but when his gaze looks to Medusa, he stares for a long time. He hasn't seen her what seems an age. And even then, it was so brief and unpleasant. "/Medusa/. How curious."

*

Medusa offers Chloe a brief but warm smile, mouth curving a bit more at Triton's moral support. When she comes face to face with Maximus, she stares right back, but there's something guarded in her gaze. "Maximus." she greets evenly. "I understand you've done quite well for yourself." Her gaze flicks around the apartment. "Considering the dire circumstances of late." Medusa's hair remains an aura around her body, smoothly undulating to and fro.

*

Triton eemed to take the moods in stride, then again fish were pretty cold blooded which may weirdly help. He was looking around, and while he was not an overly touchy feely fishie his cousins would know him well enough to see subtle deference given to the Hell-Stabber to see she was welcome. It was a stoic art. Maximus' apartment was not public and that shifted even his mood by more than a bit. "Maximus, how do you thrive without servants is what Gorgon and I are curious to know." He looked back to Chloe and advised, "If it has buttons or levers, best to just ask first."

*

Chloe nods to Triton and says, "I won't take anything for granted." She looks around the place curiously, quite content to keep her hands to herself. Medusa gets a warm smile, and she sidles closer to Triton so they stand shoulder to shoulder. That's she's fond of Prince Fish is obvious as the applique daisy on her purse. She nods then to Maximus. In the middle of the night, she shall pay this 'Lamont' a visit.

*

Maximus chuckles faintly, and smiles overbroadly, "Oh…I do have a servant. She lives below me. But, I also have a separate cook as well. Thank you for being so concerned for my survival." He paces, moving his hands across the surface of the non-functioning machine, "You are all welcome here, at present, though I do appreciate the deference. It is only a matter of time before the Council sees fit to restore me to my rightful place. I did save the city, after all." He boasts, mostly at Medusa.

*

"So I've heard." Medusa begins to casually remove her coat, adjusted by locks of her hair. "You'll have to tell me all about it over cocktails, provided that Triton and Chloe don't mind it being rehashed for my benefit." Off come her gloves. "It will be good to see home again, at peace. I've been away too long." She steps in further, examining the area for a place to sit. There's an easy, askance glance to Triton. "I'd also like to know if any of you have heard from Crystal recently."

*

Triton rest a hand to Chloe's shoulder and with casual gesture simply invited, "It is a fmialy gathering, not a formal one. Sit. Join us." He looked though to the floor and he sighed. "And I'm back in Gorgon's debt. So be it." Though to say that idly Gorgon could get the fish to bet on anything with him is putting it mildly. "/You/ saved Attilan? You mean you and my sister did. Still… it was a good plan. I wouldn't hold your breath on the Genetic Council changing their minds on much. If you could manage it that long I'll have to bring you diving with me." on the question of Crystal he offered ewith respect for her want to KNOW where her sister was. "She is not with Them. I believe she's looking for Lockjaw right now. I'd be happy to depart at your insistance to bring ehr back." He sat next to Chloe and looked to his cousins offering, "The Kree have divided us each from our only siblings. it is a stressful time, but we will amend this. Our ability to put this fmaily back together is the strongest weapon we will ever have."

*

Chloe takes a seat beside Triton. "As ever, Prince Triton, whatever aid you or the royal family requires of me, all you've got to do is ask." She has no other family to worry about, after all. No siblings she knows of. "It would be an honor to help."
